I use an original Intel so I have firewire capability and can make the camera the primary device in iChat.Ģ) If you are close enough, the camera's mic works fine. This would allow me to switch between recording Keynote slides and myself in front of a whiteboard - all with my audio comments.Īnyone out there that would like to share their experiences integrating Apple hw/sw in their lecture workflows?ġ) I used a Canon mini-DV, but any camera with Firewire (IEEE 1384) will work. To top this off, I would also have liked be able to have an easy way of switching video sources between the video that comes from the camera and the contents of the screeen at any given time. Ideally, I would have liked to set up my MBP in front of me and be able to use it both to record video of myself (1-5fps) through the built in cam, as well as being a platform for running Keynote and whatever other apps needed in the lecture.Īlso, the same background process that records the video (using QT Player?), should also be able to record sound off a BT device that I wear. I have been playing around with the idea of using Apple gear to record (audio and video) from the lectures I hold, and just wonder if any of you have played with the idea and found/built any solutions?
